Fernanda Argueta is part of the University of Maryland Harvest Hub, contributing to Harvest activities and research. Her areas of interest include GIS, Remote Sensing and its role in global cropland burning detection.

Biography

Fernanda Argueta graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Geographical Sciences specializing in GIS & Computer Cartography in 2020. Since graduating she has contributed to Dr. Louis Giglio’s and Dr. Joanne V. Hall’s scientific publications through research, data collection, quantitative data analysis, satellite imagery analysis, and creation of data visualizations. Ms. Argueta has assisted in research focused on the improvement of global cropland burned area using remote-sensing techniques and the validation of geostationary active fire products.
