Viviana Zalles is part of the University of Maryland Harvest Hub, providing support for Harvest activities and research. She is interested in studying the current state and extent of tropical forests, the trends affecting them, and the underlying causes of their destruction.
Viviana has a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and is currently working towards her PhD in Geographical Sciences at the University of Maryland. She is interested in using remote sensing to research large scale land cover change and its drivers, particularly in the context of tropical deforestation.
