AgroClimate Scientist, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada
How I work with Harvest
Dr. Champagne's work has focused on improving both earth observation methods and integration of earth observation data sets into models to help improve water resources monitoring (soil moisture, evapotranspiration, groundwater), drought estimation, crop yield monitoring, crop type and condition monitoring. Through Harvest, Catherine hopes to work with others in improving these techniques and applying them nationally and globally to support decision making in agricultural policy and food security.
Dr. Catherine Champagne currently leads research and development of agro-climate data sets from remote sensing data for the Earth Observation Service at Agriculture Canada. Her professional interests are in monitoring environmental health of ecosystems, and her experience has been in remote sensing of agricultural, forested and industrial (mines and metals) environments using both optical and microwave technology.
