How I work with Harvest

Taryn Devereux is a Senior Faculty Specialist for the University of Maryland with the NASA Harvest Hub. She serves as the Technical Program Manager with NASA's Harvest Africa Program, where she contributes to different research projects, activities and partnerships, and develops new ways to engage end users like farmers as well as the public on Harvest science and technology.

Biography

Taryn joined the Harvest team in November 2021. Previously she was on the Faculty for the UMD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR) for six years where she worked between UMD Extension and the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics (AREC) on global extension, research and teaching. Her approach towards international collaboration centers on partnering with fellow institutions of higher education to create demand-driven initiatives that center women and youth in agriculture. Taryn received her Masters in Sustainable Development Practice from the University of Florida where she focused on gender, tropical agriculture and climate change. She's worked in over a dozen countries including Colombia, Afghanistan, Tanzania and Liberia.
