6th Grain Hosts Public Webinar on Use of Remote Sensing Data in AgTech

The ability to monitor agricultural fields from their planting to harvesting is vital to knowing how crop health varies throughout the growing cycle. Crop condition is a key indicator of final crop yield and so the ability to observe how conditions change across agricultural fields is highly desired. Additionally, the ability to see how crop health shifts in response to farmer action can provide incredible insight into best practices. The delivery  of geospatial technologies, data, and techniques to growers, agricultural input providers and governments to allow this monitoring is in high demand.

Harvest Partner Molly Brown serves as the Chief Science Officer for 6th Grain, an agricultural technology company that combines farmer-level information with EO data to improve agricultural decision making. 6th Grain will be hosting a public webinar on Feb 12 to highlight how 6th Grain uses remote sensing and meteorological data to support the agriculture value chain on three continents and across diverse agro-ecological systems.

Satellite remote sensing, explains Dr. Brown, has enabled numerous advancements in the field of agriculture monitoring. Her work at 6th Grain has allowed her to engage with both farmers and agricultural corporations, utilizing machine learning, modeling, and data synthesis to meet the needs of each.

Dr. Brown expects the webinar will introduce participants to 6th Grain and demonstrate the company’s recent work. For those interested in attending, you can email demo@6grain.com and Zoom link will be sent to you one week before the webinar.
