First Round of Drone Data Collected in Tanzania by IFPRI Harvest Partners
IFPRI NASA Harvest partners Soonho Kim and Summer Allen are working as partners with UMD to understand how satellite data can help better understand crop production and loss in Tanzania. As part of this research, ground-truthed data collection is needed. The first round of data collection took place in the Chandama Ward of the Dodoma region between March 3-7 to collect survey-based data on yields and loss as well as drone data collection during sprouting of the crops. IFPRI worked with local partners Werobotics and Agrinfo to collect this data.
